According to councilman Rod Schilling, something is amiss at sewer central, where questionable spending of bond monies and an all too “hands on” mayor have created a “messy” situation.

Lakeside City Council member Timothy Crockett may be investigated by the State of Oregon Government Ethics Commission for allegations of corruption, Lakesideinfo.com has learned.
The allegations were alleged mainly from incidents coming last year. They surround Crockett’s alleged intimidation of citizens with the abatement officer powers of the city, using his position to benefit family relatives, and even gaining financially by threatening an absentee land owner with a fine that he, Crockett, would end up being paid for instead to do the clean up work. In a unanimous decision, councilors approved a motion that will require that all department heads be present at the start of each council meetings, during commissioner reports, to answer any questions. The department heads will take an hour off during the week (this is flex time or exchange time) in return for the extra time [...]
Starting January 12, thanks to newly sworn in councilor Elaine Armstrong, the city will have new hours, 8-5. It was agreed to unanimously by the council to make the change to better serve the public. More to come on the action taken at the meeting ………….
The newly elected councilor’s will be seated at the upcoming regular city council meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.
(updated) A work session had originally been planned for 6 p.m. Thursday in advance of the regular January city council meeting. That has been canceled.
