Questions That Need Answers?

Jan 10, 2011 22 Comments Print

Lakesideinfo.com is rolling out a new feature… we would like to have our community post questions in this section regarding rules, regulations, events, concerns, etc. We will strive to have at least one question answered weekly, factually, with fact-checked links, etc.

Past Mayor Schilling objected to Coast Lake News because they quoted him without actually talking to him. Now Heidi Heller, the new OLCC agent is claiming the same thing. How can they continue to get away with it without being sued? Why isn’t it slander or libel or defamation of character or something?

Unfortunately, it’s very difficult for anyone to file suit against someone who has slandered or libeled them. It is very costly to prove. I know many prominent people in Lakeside who will not consent to an interview with Coast Lake News because they are never quoted accurately.

Unfortunately, the financial backers of the Coast Lake News have an agenda — to discredit all those currently in positions of influence within the community . It is unfortunate that many of our residents have no other source of information. They believe that if they see it in print, it “must be true”.

The CLN is despicable; it should go out of business just as quickly as it came into business a few short months ago because the then mayor didn’t like Lakesideinfo.com.

Why is there no information on the rash of burglaries, home invasion robberies, etc. that have taken place in the area north of the McCullough Bridge since January 1st.; OVER 300 such burglaries?

I have heard about only the break in at the city hall, and one incident (involving a home invasion WITH guns) in the North Bay area. They broke down the front door, tied up and gagged the homeowner, stole the cash he had on hand, and then TRASHED his home.

Where is the public outrage? Where is the sheriff’s department? Where are the state police?

It seems, again, that the bad guys can operate with pretty much total freedom due to our pathetic lack of law enforcement.

Please, friends and neighbors: lock your doors; don’t open your door to anyone you don’t know; look out for your neighbors; report suspicious activity.

    Be safe.

    I have another question.

When you listen to the OLCC tape and Gowen LIES about not knowing Schilling and when and who is mayor.

Is this something that is reportable to the ethics committee? What else on the tape could be reported to someone? Is this a law violation to lie to a government agency? Who can we contact to stop this man from running wacko?

I am angry. I am scared. I’m scared for me and for others in Lakeside.

Does the OLCC have authority over the permit still retained by Bob Edwards for the wine sales? He has shown a lack of personal responsibility and bad judgment against the commission when he went before them and lied in the matter of Ms. Heller. Do they have any legal recourse?

  6. tenmilerocky says:

In answer to the question of whether or not Gowans’ lies can be reported to the State Ethic Commission, yes, they can.

Lakesideinfo.com contacted OLCC and was told that, “yes,” they do still have authority over the wine and beer license at the old liquor store location.

The OLCC. could consider asking their administrative policy and process division to look into any and all of it, but at this time do not have any interest in pursuing any legal recourse.
