In Linda Sherych’s absence the meeting was chaired by Dennis Sargeant, Secretary/Treasurer.

Bernard Malis Jr. (Bernie) after vacationing in Lakeside with his family for the past eight years is now employed by the water department as the Superintendent.

He comes from Lompoc, California, where he was responsible for a crew of twelve men and 140 miles of line, as a Lead Water Distribution Operator.

He holds a D-3 California Certificate for Water Distribution Operator, a T-2 California Certificate in Water Treatment Plant Operator, and the State of Oregon has granted reciprocity certificates for Oregon DHS D-2 certificate and qualifies for a DHS T-2 examination and filter endorsement.

He stated, ” he is busy learning the plant and the system in Lakeside and has a good teacher in Marty Ball, who has been acting superintendent.

Part time relief clerk

The water board is advertising for a part time relief clerk. The wage range is between $8.40-10 per hour dependent on experience, for less than 600 hours per year.
