Superintendent position filled at water district

At the July 6, 2010 Special meeting of the Lakeside Water District, Bernard P. Malis Jr. was hired as superintendent.  ‘Bernie’, as he likes to be called, is a Lead Water Distribution Operator for the city of Lompoc, California.

He holds a D-3 California Certificate for Water Distribution Operator, a T-2 California Certificate in Water Treatment Plant Operator, and the State of Oregon has granted reciprocity certificates for Oregon DHS D-2 certificate and qualifies for a DHS T-2 examination and filter endorsement, upon arrival to Lakeside.

Bernie will start his new position August 2, 2010, when he arrives in Lakeside with his wife and 2 young sons.

Regular July water board meeting

At the July 13, 2010 meeting of the Lakeside Water District, new officers were elected and appointed for the upcoming year.

• Linda Sherych, was re-elcted Chair

• Dennis Sargent, re-elected Sectary-Treasurer

• Janet Swinford, appointed Personnel Officer

• Benny Henry, appointed Safety Officer

Interim Superintendent Marty Ball, was given a letter of appreciation and certificate for his dedicated work for the Water District.
