Lakeside Library to reopen soon
The library counter usually graced by a welcoming face, the computer room full of online users, and the aisles with book browsers, for now, is empty. But, not for much longer.
Barring any electronic issues the library will be in full swing by Wednesday 28, according to Belfor, property restoration.
The water came from the hot water heater located in the corner of the kitchen/computer servers, and equipment room.
A library aide opened the door and witnessed water spewing over the entire room from the hot water heater. The heater was equipped to handle small leaks, “this was a flood,” stated library director Nadine Goodrich.
The phone rang with a patron on the line asking about WIFI, the library is often used by drive-up WIFI users. There will be no WIFI until the library re-opens. Goodrich was surprised at how many people use that particular service.
Coastline system efficient and effective
Goodrich assures library customers that “our Coastline system is effective in that the customer can access their own accounts, renew books, place holds, and contact any other library in Coos County.”
The summer reading program (Make a Splash, Read) is not effected by the library closure and will meet as usual Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for the program on rafting, presented by Mr. Groen.
