At the regular April Lakeside water board meeting the Direct Responsible Charge (DRC), Bob Strassner, stated that a very qualified person from Lebanon is interested in the open superintendent position with the water department.

The superintendent position requires a Water Distribution (WD)II and Water Treatment (WT) II with a filtration endorsement, and some surface water experience.

Marty Ball, acting superintendent, was hired in 1996, he carries a WDI and a WTI. Recently Ball took the test that would have given him the necessary credentials to fill the superintendent position. He failed to pass, but intends to retake the test.

According to Tami Estabrook,  office manager, it has been left up to Ball to decide when he wants to take the test again and he will pay for the testing himself.

It was mentioned that this will be the fourth time he will be taking the test.

DRC Strassner, carries all the necessary licensing and credentials to actively oversee and review all the things that Marty Ball does at the plant. Strassner receives approximately $500 a month for his services.

Budget committee

The Lakeside water budget committee is now meeting, with an audit due in July.

Upgrades in technology

New upgrades are being considered that would allow for internet information on the pumps and water levels in the wells.
