Councilor Rod Schilling sworn in as Mayor, along with two new councilor’s
Councilor Rod Schilling, serving as mayor pro tem since Orville Nelson resigned, was sworn in as Mayor after a unanimous vote from the Lakeside city council at their regular meeting.
Additionally, the two vacated council positions were filled. One with a long-time resident, Rudolph Sherych, the other with a recent arrival to Lakeside from Klamath Falls, Oregon, Marjorie Kellison. Both unanimously agreed to by the council.
Rudy Sherych has lived in Lakeside for over 35 years, he was very active in the community early on, now since his retirement has become active again.
Sherych is a retired U.S Air Force Master Sergeant and recently retired from the security business.
Sherych has been very involved in the Parks Advisory/Community Garden Committee since it’s inception. He will be giving up his position on the Lakeside Planning Commission to serve on the city council.
Kellison and her husband have resided in Lakeside for a year. They like it here, she told the council she looks forward to working for her city and getting involved.
The council agreed unanimously to appoint Councilor Mack Eubanks, to the position of President of the council.
