Robbed at gun point and stranded in Mexico
Lakeside Fire department board member, Calvin Walker, traveling with his daughter and two grandchildren inside Mexico, was hijacked at gunpoint.
Walker was moving his daughter and grandchildren to live with their father in Mexico.
While stopped at a well lit truck stop near Los Mochis, Mexico, Walker was ordered out of his pickup. He at first refused until the gun was pointed at his head, at the same time a gunman was threatening his daughter on the passenger side of the truck.
Walker stepped out and was struck with the pistol on the back of the neck. He was left with his daughter and two grandchildren at the side of the road.
The four gunman got away with two pickups, household items, money, credit cards, a cell phone, pets, all their personal belongings, including their shoes.
The cashier at the truck stop took them inside the store and called the Federales.
Walker will go to the American Consulate to replace his paperwork after the holiday. His son is leaving Oregon to meet them in Nogales and return them to Lakeside.
Donations would be appreciated to help the family. Please make them to:
