Safely home!

Calvin Walker
Calvin Walker, his daughter, and two grandchildren, ages five and nine, arrived home safely late Friday after being hijacked and robbed, in Mexico.
The whole family is grateful for the sincere outpouring from the Lakeside community in helping with the costly burden of getting home after everything they had was stolen.
The expenses incurred ranged from the cost for food and lodging, while waiting for the passing of the long week-end (President’s Day), to the cost of an additional $375 to replace their papers.
When the American Consulate re-opened on Tuesday after the holiday, the family had to talk their way past three armed guards speaking only Spanish, to get inside.
They were able to get their passports and additional paperwork restored, so they could commence the journey out of Mexico into the United States.
Calvin, his daughter and his grandchildren, were told not to leave the bus out of Mexico, until they reached Tuscan.
Walker’s son James, traveled from Grants Pass to Tuscan to pick them up with Calvin’s fiance, Julie.
Walker said, ” we are home with our lives, that’s what counts.” He also wants those that have stepped up to help to know what that has meant to him and his, “it is like we have a very large extended family.”
Since getting home, Walker has gone about replacing his medications, his glasses and have his neck clinically looked at, where he was struck with a gun.
Donations would be appreciated to help the family. Please make them to:
