Gingersnaps
♥ 3/4 cup shortening (can substitute better flavored Crisco)
♥ 1 cup brown sugar
♥ 1/4 cup molasses
♥ 1 egg
♥ Cream together first 4 ingredients till fluffy
♥ Sift together dry ingredients
♥ 2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
♥ 2 teaspoon soda
♥ 1/2 teaspoon salt
♥ 1 teaspoon ginger
♥ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
♥ 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Combine both and form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from pan. About 5 dozen
