SAFETY AND FUN

Was the theme at Lakesides “First Annual Bicycle Rodeo.” Kids from Lakeside and the surrounding area met at the Lakeside Lion’s Club Saturday morning for a bicycle safety awareness and fun day that included an obstacle course, bike tune-ups and repairs, and free helmets.

The event was sponsored by the Lakeside Women’s club with assistance from the Lakeside Fire Department.

Firefighters Caleb Moldt , Bob  Piersall, Patricia Grey provided direction at the obstacle course while Fire Chief Ted Ross adjusted chains, lubed and repaired bikes as necessary.

Kids who completed the course were given a certificate of completion and an ice cream cone. For those kids who missed the event and do not have a helmet, the Women’s Club will make available on a first come basis free helmets at the Lakeside Fire hall until they are all distributed.
