The Lakeside Citizen’s Patrol garage sale that took place over the last weekend was the biggest and best one it has ever had, says Sandy Thayer, who helped organize it.

All monies collected will help pay for up-keep on the vehicle, gas and insurance the patrol uses.

After the sale, Thayer says the group has donated remaining items that did not sell to two unemployed members of its patrol, with the end being that they will have their own yard sale soon to help make ends meet.

Lakeside Citizen Patrol, (LCP) is a trained group of residents organized to increase the safety of Lakeside neighborhoods.

The LCP is an extension of the activity and philosophy of neighborhood watch.

The main purpose of LCP is to provide a visible presence on the streets as a deterrent to criminal activity.
