Tenmile beach construction underway

During the week of March 16, Coos County Parks employees utilized Coos County Highway and Park Department dump trucks and  County Highway heavy equipment to transport sand from North Sewer site to County Park Beach area. A draft summary table below lists project work details for the week.

NOTE: All employee time was not utilized for dump trucks. One employee was necessary to keep at sewer site loading dump trucks.

In addition, man-hours were utilized to level sand delivered to site.

During this period, the Beach Partners received 6 hrs of donated equipment and labor at $75/hr. for a value of $450. This activity was conducted by Green Excavation and consisted of clearing dirt from the site.

BBP are also seeking addition funding through the Lakeside Chamber and other public and private donations.

It is estimated that approximately 15,000 cubic yards of sand still are needed to complete the beach as originally designed.
