Support for anti-crime efforts

Mar 25, 2009 No Comments Print

Lakeside Community Association was organized in 1993 for the purpose of generating support and participation in anti-crime efforts. Added to this in 2009 is the goal of creating a system of support for emergency situations.

This is the association that supports the Citizen Patrol. Lakeside Citizen Patrol, (LCP) is a trained group of residents organized to increase the safety of Lakeside neighborhoods. The LCP is an extension of the activity and philosophy of neighborhood watch.

The main purpose of LCP is to provide a visible presence on the streets as a deterrent to criminal activity.

Cash donations are always welcome, and can be sent to Lakeside Community Association, P.O. Box 620, Lakeside, Or. 97449. LCP is always excepting cans and bottles for redemption, use contact numbers provided above for pick-up. Don’t forget to save your McKays market grocery receipts.

You can join the LCP

LCP is always interested in new volunteers, that is where their strength comes from. Not all volunteers need to go on patrol, there are a number of other support opportunities available. A simple FREE background check is needed, which LCP provides.

A valid Oregon drivers license is required for those who want to drive, others may ride along to help with security and watch. It is all simple and rewarding. Become a volunteer for Lakeside, the Sheriff’s Office, and Officer Scott Moore.

We plan to offer 24 hour security for the Lakeside Crawdad Event in May. LCP will also participate with an event booth serving Crawdad’s, Gumbo soup with rice. Hopefully pop and bottled water too. Come join the fun. Thanks, Sandy
