The process of moving sand from one place to another is again happening in an effort to provide beach frontage at the Lakeside county park.

Mike Mader, Watershed council and Beach Partner, reported at the regular council meeting that mayor Nelson had negotiated with the county for the use of their dump trucks and equipment for three days.

Mike Mader, also requested that the Beach Partners be allowed to have the flexibility to sell and use sand for trade.

This in turn would assist in negotiations for the sand relocation. Permission was given, with the codicil, “not to exceed maximum allowable.”

Mike Mader made a point of thanking all the many people involved in the project and shared his own contributions toward reaching the goal of beach front for public use.

The Beach Partners believe this to be an extremely important project for Lakeside. Tenmile Lakes are inviting to fisherman, yachts, boating and other water craft even without a beach.

A sandy beach, available for public use, is a vision held by many in Lakeside.
