“We are historically facing the biggest challenge since the civil war.”

When Newt Gingrich went to Tulane University to speak as guest lecturer in James Carville’s classroom recently, what transpired was an amazing discussion.

It’s a sweeping historical lecture, as Gingrich puts the current status of the country within the perspective of the rest of this nation’s history. Carville comes into the discussion to challenge Gingrich.

To understand what has happened to the American economy, this YouTube video is a treasure. In it, the conservative Gingrich explains to students about what he calls the “Bush/Obama bailout” on the American economy.

Please fast forward Part I to where Gingrich is introduced in the 24th minute.

Carville asks the question: “What if we didn’t bail out AIG?” Gingrich explains everyone was wrong in hindsight on the $700 billion dollar bailout. That includes himself.

Part II is an hour of question and answer from the students, which is arguably the session to watch first.

We cannot emphasize enough that you spend a bit of your ordinary news watching/reading time with the most useful and informative explanation of what is happening in America you will likely have seen to date.
