Lakeside Community Patrol
Since 1992 Lakeside has had a volunteer community patrol watching our homes and our streets.
Lakeside Community Patrol operates under the Lakeside Community Association (LCA). The non-profit LCA was formed to generate support and participate in local anti-crime efforts.
Lakeside Community Patrol (LCP) is a community policing organization a sub-committee of LCA. They are guided by the Coos’ County Sheriff’s Department and the patrol board of directors.
The volunteers are residents of Lakeside trained to increase the safety of their neighborhood. They patrol the streets to provide a presence and report incidents and problems to the sheriff’s office.
The members are non-confrontational and coordinate with the Sheriff’s office. The Citizen’s patrol is an extension of the activity and philosophy of neighborhood watch.
LCP is asking for donations to help in gasoline costs, upkeep of their vehicle, and their insurance costs. Watch for scheduled fund raising efforts in the future.
You will find a canister at McKays market for money only, the receipts plus donations can go in canisters at the Stables, and City Hall. These are for your donations of money or for McKays receipts. McKays is generous in their support, giving a percentage of the receipt totals back to LCP.
If you choose you can send donations to: L.C.A., PO Box 620, Lakeside, Ore. 97449. If you have cans or bottles you would like to donate please call, 759-1234 and they will be picked up.
If you desire more information or are interested in joining the effort, please call Sandy Thayer at 759-3133 or LCP at 759-1234
