Annual Girl Scout cookie sale

Lakeside Girl Scouts are taking preorders for the official Girl Scout cookies. Preorders will be taken untill Jan. 25th, then the girls will get ready for cookie booth sales.
Our troop 30536 is trying to sell enough cookies for a sleep over in the Newport Aquarium. The goal is to sell 1000 boxes, which will allow enough money for all their activities and crafts for the entire year. The girls get prizes and patches for the number of cookies they sell.
Cookie deliveries will start Feb. 20th until March 15th. The girl scouts will go door to door and participate in booth sales. Everyone is welcome to come to a girl scout meeting to order there girl scout cookies, meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at the Senior center, located behind City Hall.
Girl Scout cookies only come around once a year. Cookies are only $4.00 a box. The girls will collect cash or checks for the cookies upon delivery. Please help our troop and buy some yummy girl scout cookies.
Cookie information:
Thin Mints – Thin wafer covered with a smooth chocolaty coating. “Made with natural peppermint”
Samoas – Vanilla cookie covered with caramel, coconut, and chocolate
Dulce De Leche – Sweet Latin cookies with milk caramel chips and stripes (new)
Sugar Free Chocolate Chips – Made with real chocolate chips.
Do-Si-Dos – Crunchy oatmeal cookie with a creamy peanut butter filling.
Tagalongs – Cookie with a peanut butter patty and chocolaty coating.
Trefoils – Delicate-tasting shortbread cookie
Lemon Chalet Cremes – vanilla sandwich with hint of cinnamon-ginger spice and a refreshing zesty lemon creme filling.
Girl Scout Recipe
Dulce de Leche and Chocolate Delight
Ingredients
1 box Dulce de Leche cookies
1 Stick (4 oz.) unsalted butter
12 oz. semi-sweet morsels
14 oz. can regular condensed milk
non-stick baking spray
9 oz. paper cups
Optional: chocolate or caramel syrup,
whipped topping and Maraschino
cherries for garnish
Directions
1. Break cookies into pieces.
2. Lightly spray nonstick cooking
spray into cups.
3. Melt butter. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate until smooth.
4. In a bowl, whisk together melted chocolate mix with condensed milk.
5. Spoon a thin layer of chocolate into bottom of cup.
6. Place a layer of broken cookies over layer of chocolate.
7. Spoon another layer of chocolate mix over the cookies
8. Place another layer of cookies over layer of chocolate.
9. Spoon another layer of chocolate mix over the cookies.
10. Repeat process in each cup, then freeze until frozen solid (approx. 2 hrs.)
11. Once frozen, gently tear off cups from dessert.
Serving suggestions:
1. Drizzle stripes of chocolate or caramel onto dessert plate beforehand.
2. Add a dollop of whipped topping to dessert and place a cherry on top.
