Christmas Santa social a huge success
By Susan and Richard Brittsan
Upon entering the Lion’s hall at last Friday evening’s Santa Social, the children were given an opportunity to choose from an array of donated gifts a special present to give to their parents.
The children were helped with wrapping by a Lion member. It was a huge hit!

The Kids Zone kids sang Christmas carols on stage while hot dogs and punch were served.

Santa arrived on the firetruck with sirens blaring. After chatting with Santa each child received a wrapped gift and the ice cream and cookies were served.
There was a crowd of nearly 200 with 120 gifts given out.
A special thanks goes out to all that participated from the Lion’s club to:
- The Lakeside Women’s Club
- McKays
- Mary’s Beauty Shop
- Umpqua Dairy
- The Pancake Mill
- The Mill Casino
- Fred Meyer
- MidCoast ShipnShore
- STEP
- Assembly of God Church
- Walmart
- Lakeside Fire Department
Also, Robert Atkins donated 14 Christmas trees that were given out. And there were many others in the giving spirit who wish to remain anonymous.
In addition, the Lion’s Club put together 44 food boxes to be distributed Monday afternoon.
