There was a crowd in the City Council Chambers Thursday night for Lakeside’s regular council meeting.
Many were there to welcome Mayor Nelson back after a hit and run accident that took him to Emanuel Hospital in Portland in critical condition. He is receiving physical therapy at Baycrest Village in North Bend for a time.
He thanked the crowd for their prayers and good wishes.
In other business we learned that the city attorney Rich Rodeman is retiring, there will be a search for his replacement.
Workhorse Construction was awarded the job of repairing the outside library wall.
The open position that is the result of Jim Browns death will be posted and filled at the November meeting.
A question was posed by Elaine Armstrong as to how the sand removal was progressing…it seems to be at a stand still due to lack of funds.
