I would like everyone to know that the Lakeside Kid Zone is open from 3pm-6pm behind City Hall. Our phone number is 759-4636. We are up to 20+ kids daily this year which is growing everyday. We need your support at the LCA (Lakeside Community Association) meetings to find out our future plans. We do want to mention that the City Council and the Budget Committee for the city has donated more land to add to our playground and also donated $10,000.00 from their budget for this year to get the new playground equipment. None of this can happen without community support. Please attend our Oct. meeting and find out what we are working on and see how you can help. This is for our latchkey children and they need a place to go after school with supervision. They are hard at work doing their community service, picking up trash every friday around town. Please drive safely and watch for our children. Our kid zone kids are working on homework, crafts, puzzles, games, sports, watching movies, having full balanced meals provided by North Bay School, playing activities inside and outside. Thank you for all your support. We need everyone’s help to reach our goal of getting the new playground equipment. So watch for the flyers around town and come to the meeting. We need everyone’s comments, ideas, and goals.
Thank you, Sandy Thayer-director of Kid Zone

I am impressed with the number of candidates that are actively seeking seats in the mayor and city council elections this year. I hope that the candidates take the opportunity to utilize this forum to meet and greet the voters. The democratic process works. If you are not registered to vote it only takes a minute to register. If you have moved since you last registered , you need to re-register.Your address needs to be correct for your vote to count. We all have a voice in our community and our country. If you do not vote you will not be heard.

P.S. Thank you Rod Schilling for sharing your views and goals in the candidate forum.
