Congratulations
After many hours of study and days of manipulative training, Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department would like to introduce its newest graduates to obtain “Firefighter II” status.
From left to right Clark Anderson, Nathan King, and Jason Doyon. Training classes were certified through Southwest Oregon Community College and taught by Training Officer Level III, Doug Breidenthal. Certification brings these firefighters to an elite standard and greatly increases Lakeside Fire’s ability to serve its citizens. The days when firefighter badges were handed out over a BBQ and beer are long gone.
The educational requirements of modern firefighters have evolved to a standard whereby a monumental amount of training and ongoing study is required. From Firefighter I and II, E.M.T., Rescue, Haz-Mat, Aircraft, etc., dozens of “Certs” are available to further the education of these volunteers as well as paid firefighters. A heartfelt THANKS!!! and congratulations go out to these three for their diligence and hard work.
