WOW! Was that thunder? No, just the drag boat races at Ten Mile Lake. This last Saturday & Sunday brought the Columbia Drag Boat Assn. to Lakeside for the 22nd annual running of the go fast boats.
The pictures show Saturdays qualifying races being enjoyed by the fans under a sunny sky and fair temperatures. Lakesides chamber of commerce sponsored a very enlightening race book and manned the entrances to the event. Safety was provided by the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department, Lower Umqua Ambulence had a unit on scene, and the race club provided their own personnel and boats for driver safety and rescue on the lake.
A great time was had by all as once again Lakeside and its many attractions were showcased in a positive light.
