Fire Calls between 8/12 and 8/26

Calls between 8/12 and 8/26 included 13 medical aides, and an “all-nighter” structure fire assist to Winchester Bay that completely destroyed the old Oasis Restaurant.

See attached pictures. Currently meetings are in progress to establish and maintain the mutual aide contracts that make having a small volunteer department possible in this day and age. Without the outside resources and assistance provided by other small departments in our area we would not be able to provide fire and rescue services and still obey the many laws mandated by State and Federal guidelines. This is why we send our volunteers to help other municipalities as well as request reciprocity when the need arises.

All firefighters are brothers and you would be hardpressed to find a single one not willing and ready to help out wherever the need.   Rod Schilling
