Our Harmony Garden

This is Lakeside’s Community Garden. We gave it the name of ‘Harmony’, because that is what we dream of for Lakeside, harmony. It is beautiful. After the election of 2006 councilor Cathy Walker began assembling committees, her campaign pledge was to have an involved community. Out of the ‘blue’ she fell ill and asked Mack Eubanks to carry on with her pledge, and he has in forming the Parks Advisory/Community Garden Committee. Teri Macduff is the Chairman with Diane O’Bryan, (master gardener) as President, and Mack Eubanks as the liaison councilor. Our secretary is Linda Scheryc, our treasurer Charleen Hill. Rounding out the board of ten, we have Susan Aaron, Michael & Elaine Armstrong, Rudy Sheryc and Karen Eubanks. We lost Cathy Walker to death, but her dream lives on. This is a committee that really works! We have managed to also do some additional beautification in the community and the Christmas tree event in front of city hall. Our plans are huge, join us, help us, and it ‘will be so’.
