Council to Julie Wilson: Go Home!

First female councilor since 2005 un-appointed after one meeting. With the help of city attorney,  Nelson changes what constitutes a voting majority to unseat her after learning of Wilson’s connection to his “political enemy.

Something is really rotten in Lakeside, Oregon.  Those indifferent to the city government of Mayor Orville Nelson need to become informed of his many injustices against women.  Case in point, he has corrupted city government in a zealous and despicable way that is to keep qualified educated women from serving on the Lakeside City Council and budget committee.  You ask, to what purpose?   In order to surround him self with yes men cronies.

Item:  November 7, 2007 Mayor orchestrated the rejection of Elaine Armstrong, a long time Lakeside resident and supervisor of the North Bend Circuit Court to fill a vacant council position, for a friend Gary Wilson, who said he wasn’t as qualified,  as Mrs. Armstrong.

Item:  April 10, 2008 Mayor Nelson orchestrated not appointing to the budget committee, Michelle Robeson, who is a CFO for a fortune 500 company.  Instead, two less qualified people were appointed.

Item:  June 24, 2008 is the most egregious act by the Mayor.  On May 8, 2008 a local businesswoman with a degree in psychology and an adjudicator for Social Security, was appointed to fill a vacant council position by majority vote, the next day the mayor contacted the city attorney to find a way to remove her.  On June 24, 2008 the council unlawfully and unethically voted to remove her from the council and appoint a less experienced man.

It’s time the citizens of Lakeside wake up and smell what’s going on in city hall, under OrVillian Rule!!!
